After doing this projects, i learnt what appliances are there in a hydroponics farm. Besides that, i also found out more information about hydroponics farm while i am researching. Throughout this project, i learnt about the electric power needed for different types of appliances in the hydroponic farm. With my partner and I, we were able to finish this project on time and post on the blog.
We took our information from the site http://www.ecogrow.com/.
We thank them for the information and pictures provided.
This pedestal fan has what it takes to keep your room cool. It features smooth and quite operation and 90-degree oscillating action. It has 3 speed setting and adjustable height to insure the perfect location and strength for your needs. It also has a heavy-duty base that deters tipping. 180 watts/.234 HP, with an 8-foot power cord.
Assuring the fan has been on for 24hours,
Electrical Power = (180/1000)kW x 24hours
= 4.32kWh
The amount of electrical power spent is 4.32kWh in one day.

5 year warranty
Assuring the man on the systems for 24hours,
Electrical energy = Power x Time
= 1kW x 24hour
= 24kWh
the amount of electrical energy spent is 24kWh.
The TNC centrifugal inline water pump is powerful and dependable. This non-submersible water pump moves 1268 gph through 1” pipe thread fittings and has a dependable ceramic/graphite seal. When it comes to moving high capacities of nutrient solution, nothing comes close. The TNC water pump is used in General Hydroponics AeroFlo2 -60 units.
Specifications:
Power Supply - AC 120v, 60Hz
Power Consumption - 160w @ 60 Litre/Min (951 GPH)
Maximum Head - 5.4M (17.2 Ft.)
Maximum Capacity - 80 Litres/Min (1268 GPH)
Output -1/4 HP
Liquid Temperature - 0? - 60? C (32? - 140? F)
Connection Ports (Pipe Thread) - 1” Inlet & Outlet
The power consumption of the pump is 160w for 60litres/min which is very electrical consumption and this will help to drop the cost of the monthly bill of electricity.
Assuring the pump has been on for 24hours,
The electrical energy of the pump
= (160/1000)kWh x 24hours
= 3.84kWh
4" square AC axial fan, air flow 105 CFM, voltage rating 115 volts, width 4 11/16 inches, speed 2900 RPM, current rating 0.18 amp, bearing sleeve, power rating 18 watts, speech interference level of 48 db, cast aluminum housing, maximum temperature 150 degrees farenheit.
6" square AC axial fan, air flow 238 CFM, voltage rating 115 volts, width 5 7/8 inches, speed 3200 RPM, current rating 0.23 amp, bearing ball, power rating 27 watts, speech interference level of 55 db, cast aluminum housing, maximum temperature 176 degrees farenheit.
10" square AC axial fan, air flow 665 CFM, voltage rating 115 volts, speed 1600 RPM, current rating 0.23 amp, bearing ball, power rating 26 watts, speech interference level of 52 db, cast aluminum housing, maximum temperature 176 degrees farenheit. All models include detachable power cord.
Assuring the fans have been on for 24hours,
The amount of electrical energy spend on 4" square AC axial fan
= (18/1000)kWh x 24hours
= 0.432kWh
The amount of electrical energy spend on 6" square AC axial fan
=(27/1000) x 24hours
= 0.648kWh
The amount of electrical energy spend on 10" square AC axial fan
=(26/1000) x 24hours
= 0.624kWh
6" square AC axial fan costs the most amount of electrical energy and 4" square AC axial fan costs the less amount of electrical energy.
The Can Filters Group Inc. has added thermostatically controlled fans in sizes 4 HO and 6 HO, 240 volt 60 hz. The new thermostatic fan is controlled by setting the dial to the desired temperature. The fan has an integrated sensor inside, sensing the temperature of the airow every 1.5 minutes. When the airow temperature is warmer than the dial setting, the fan will automatically speed up. If the air ow is cooler then the set point, the fan will automatically slow down.
This fan will automatically adjusts the temperature and this will help to save the electricity from wasting if the temperature is set too high or too low.
Hydrofarm’s new Designer T5 System delivers performance, flexibility and high lumen output in any growing environment. These daisy-chainable systems allow you to choose multiple hanging configurations to meet your garden’s design. They combine German specular aluminum with energy-efficient/high-output T5 bulbs and put out double the light energy of normal fluorescent systems.
- Available in 2-and 4-foot units.
2 foot: 2, 4, or 8 bulb
4 foot: 4, 6, or 8 bulb
- German made specular aluminium
- May be daisy-chained together
- Powder coated, textured steel housing
- Low profile
- Hangs 3 ways - overhead, vertical or horizontal

These fluorescent light systems will save more electricity as it combine German specular aluminum with energy-efficient/high-output T5 bulbs.
What is hydroponics farming?
We have to first find out what is hydroponics farming before we begin our research.
Hydroponics is a method of growing plants using mineral nutrient solutions, without soil. Plants absorb essential mineral nutrients as inorganic ions in water. In natural conditions, soil acts as a mineral nutrient reservoir but the soil itself is not essential to plant growth. When the mineral nutrients in the soil dissolve in water, plant roots are able to absorb them. When the required mineral nutrients are introduced into a plant's water supply artificially, soil is no longer required for the plant to thrive. Almost any terrestrial plant will grow with hydroponics. Hydroponics is also a standard technique in biology research and teaching.
